Morsø and the environment Morsø stoves are environmentally friendly, reducing CO2 and particle emissions to the environment. For a number of years, Morsø has made efforts to ensure that our stoves are environmentally sound. Therefore most Morsø stoves meet the requirements of the Swan eco-label which specifies max. 5 g of particles per kg of fuel.
DS-approved stoves All Morsø stoves are DS-approved, and together with a number of other stove manufacturers Morsø has laid down stricter requirements with a view to reducing emissions. Together with a number of Danish manufacturers of wood-burning stoves and the Danish Ministry of the Environment, we have formulated guidelines for limiting particle emissions.
Facts about particles and wood-burning stoves Studies by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency have shown that “wood-burning stoves only account for a very small part of the background pollution”. On evenings in a residential neighbourhood when there is little or no wind, increased amounts of particles will be detectable in the air. But overall, the amount of particle emissions from wood-burning stoves is insignificant compared to, e.g., the amount of air-borne particles from neighbouring countries.
Environmentally friendly use of the stove.
