Cast iron
Morsø has always used solid cast iron throughout the firebox – not only in critical places.

Cast iron has a number of clear benefits compared to other materials: It does not buckle (keeps its shape) during use, so the doors remain airtight. Cast iron is particularly suitable for heating as it retains the heat for longer and ensures an even and comfortable heat distribution. If you want to fire the stove overnight, cast iron is your best choice.

Sheet iron
Sheet iron stoves heat up quickly, but do not offer the same high heat retention as cast iron. On the other hand, sheet iron offers more design options. Morsø has exploited this in several stove models, combining a cast-iron firebox with an exterior made of sheet iron.

Inner fireproof material
The firebox should be lined with a fireproof material as its insulating effect increases the combustion temperature and thus the output. Most new Morsø stoves are insulated with vermiculite
slabs that protect the cast iron, ensuring it lasts longer.
